Our Favorite Wax Accessories Explained

You know what they say, the right accessories make everything better. We completely agree, especially when it comes to wax treatments. The right tools can make all the difference in efficiency, quality of the wax treatment, and even in your repeat business. So, take a few minutes and check out our favorite wax accessories and see how they can make a difference in your wax business.

Wax Warmers

We can’t emphasize enough that the key to a smooth, clean wax is temperature. That’s why you can never underestimate the value of a good wax warmer. Under heated wax goes on too thick and doesn’t remove the hair too well, which can lead to bruising. If the wax is too hot, it can burn the skin. A quality warmer will also heat both hard and soft wax evenly, allowing you to focus on taking care of your client, and not worrying about the wax temperature. And make sure your wax warmer offers temperature settings, as you should always adjust based on room temperature.

Wax Removal Strips

You might say our Berodin team has a love for non-woven strips that are strong enough to be used many times before throwing them away (legs, for example, would use seven strips total). The wax also doesn’t come through the strip, which keeps your hands clean during the procedure, and the wide strips allow you to remove and rub as you go, creating a cleaner, more efficient process.

Spatulas

Wax application requires the use of various sized spatulas, and the proper technique has a lot to do with the spatulas you use. Certain spatulas can result in not applying the right amount of wax to the skin and cause you to use more than you need for each treatment. The large plastic reusable spatulas can cut your waxing time by 50%, so even though you have to take a few minutes between appointments to clean and sterilize, they are well worth it. Smaller disposable wooden spatulas are perfect for areas such as the face, underarms and bikini area.

Pre and Post Wax Care

Specifically designed to condition the skin before waxing, a pre-depilatory oil can be used with any of our signature waxes. Consider using post-wax essential oil to calm and cool your client’s skin, and an acne control gel to target bacteria and help prevent breakouts when waxing the face, chest and upper back. Apply it post-wax and advise your clients to use it morning and night until the acne clears up. And never under estimate the power of a good pair of slanted tweezers. The perfect angle will help you grab and remove those unsightly hairs. With proper waxing technique and timing between appointments (we advise 3 weeks), there should be very little tweezing needed.
