Warmer days are here, and you can bet your clients are starting to think about bathing suits, beach vacations, and baring more skin. Translation? They’re also thinking about waxing. That’s why now is the perfect time to reach out and get their wax appointments scheduled. And what’s the best way to get them on their way to beautiful summer skin? Use your expertise to help them before, during and after their appointment. Read on for a few of our suggestions.

1. Before: Prepare Yourself

Your clients should be preparing for their wax appointment about two weeks before they come in. Remind them to stop shaving, so their hair is at least a ¼” long...allowing the wax to grip properly. Trust us, they’ll be much happier with the results in the end. Then a few days prior, they should exfoliate really well. You can remind them of that tip when you call to confirm their appointment. 2. Appointment Day

On the day of their appointment, suggest they take a warm bath. A bath can help soften the skin and make the wax treatment more effective. Remember, your clients may have questions about waxing...the hard vs. soft wax question comes up quite a bit for example. Be sure to talk to your client when they arrive about the difference and which is better for them depending on the service they want. Of course, remind them to relax...they are in great hands! But if they are really concerned about pain, they can take some Advil about 20 minutes prior to their appointment.

3. After: Get Ready to Glow

Depending on the waxing service, consider suggesting showering instead of taking a bath for the first few days post appointment. Remind them to plan on limited working out (due to sweating) for 24 hours. Some other tips? They can apply ice if area is red or swollen, and don’t forget to moisturize!
